**Please note the 200/70R17 KR108 is unavailable until 2021. We will relist this product when it is available from stock.**
The KR slick range is one of our most popular European track day tyres. It has high levels of grip, grip which is extended through the life of the tyre, and if the correct compounds are chosen, a great wear rate. The new size rear KR108 (200/70/17) is also bi-directional, meaning the tyre has been designed so it can be rotated (flipped/spun over) on the rim to extend tyre life.*
Dunlop KR slick compounds are numbered, both front and rear, from soft getting progressively stronger. Dunlop KR slicks are at their best when the correct compound for the circuit and conditions is chosen. Due to the variables involved in correct tyre selection, choosing the "right" tyre for your riding circumstance can be testing when done in advance, but we have made some general recommendations below for you.
For most European track day use on a 1000cc machine, we recommend an MS3 front and in the 1956517 size an MS4 rear, and 2007017 size an MS3 rear. This is recommended for the majority of use, but this could differ with circuit choice, time of year and rider requirements. For faster riders in warmer conditions, an MS2 rear will work better - just be careful not get caught out on a cold morning or end to the day.
For most UK track day use on a 1000cc machine, we recommend an MS2 front - with an MS3 through the height of summer - and in the 1956517 size an MS4 rear, and 2007017 size an MS3 rear. This is recommended for the majority of use, but this could differ with circuit choice, time of year and rider requirements.
For race application, it is important to consider softer rear compound tyre options over track day use, but correct choice is consider through track severity, required use and ground temperature.
Correct compound choice is essential with all race product, but none more so than the KR slick range from Dunlop Motorsport. Please contact Race Support on 01525 877087 option 3 to discuss compounds if you are unsure what compounds to order.
All NHS (Not for Highway service) motorcycle tyres are only for pure racing and cannot be used on public roads.

*rotating of the 200/70/17 KR108 tyre can only be achieved if the wear is equal and tyre life is sufficient for required use. Rotating a tyre will naturally result in less grip being available and also increase wear rate. It is important to remember that if you wear the tyre down past the wear markers on the more in use drive side, that side is still going to have very little compound left still, when you rotate it. This can lead to that new side having very little grip and will easily catch you out. For example; say you are on a right handed circuit with 8 rights and 4 left handers in total - one of which is a slow in, hard acceleration out corner. The left side will not be as worn as the right. If you then rotate the tyre, the worn right hand side, will now be on the left hand side. Already it will have less grip as its worn. When you hit the throttle hard coming out of the slow in, hard acceleration out left hander in the next session, you need to remember the tyre now has less grip than if did before you rotated the tyre! This lack of grip, could catch you out. Please be careful and take the advice of your tyre professional when discussing rotating the 200/70/17 KR108.
